David Kriete

Vice Admiral Kriete, a 1984 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, retired from active duty in 2021. A career submariner, he served on USS Finback, USS Flying Fish, and USS Kentucky, and commanded USS Rhode Island in Kings Bay, Georgia. He later commanded Submarine Squadron SIX in Norfolk, Virginia, and Submarine Group NINE in Bangor, Washington.


As a flag officer, Vice Admiral Kriete served in the White House on the National Security Council staff as the Director Strategic Capabilities Policy from 2016-2018. He also served as the Deputy Commander of U.S. Strategic Command in Bellevue, Nebraska. His last assignment was Deputy Commander, U.S. Fleet Forces, in Norfolk, Virginia. He and his wife Kathleen now reside in Fernandina Beach, Florida.
